Owner builders cannot: Carry out licensed tradespersons works such as plumbing and electrical, or undertake specialist building work such as demolition or swimming pool construction.
An owner builder permit must be obtained under the ACT Planning and Land Directorate if construction value is more than $5,000 (labour and materials). You must complete the both the owner builder and white card courses.
